The Audi Premium Platform Electric Program aims to reduce the interior space necessary to outfit a premium vehicle with an all-electric powertrain, while at the same time improving the charging capability, range, and overall dynamism of the vehicle. For example, one of the premier innovations coming with the Premium Platform Electric Program is an integration with the vehicle’s onboard navigation. If it detects the driver has indicated a stop up ahead to recharge, it automatically beings to precondition the battery to receive a charge, resulting in substantially reduced charging times.
In fact, when equipped with the Premium Platform Electric Program technologies, a new Audi Q6 e-tron® can charge from ten to 80 percent battery capacity in just 21 minutes’ time, which is considerably faster than many of its competitors.
