The Audi Brand is a magnet for accolades, but perhaps the most substantive awards its vehicles have earned over the years are the IIHS Top Safety Pick and Top Safety Pick+ awards it has garnered from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. This nonprofit scientific and educational organization evaluates each new model year of vehicles to determine which models are best in terms of crash worthiness and crash prevention. And we're happy to report that for the 2022 model year, ten Audi models have been thusly recognized and awarded.
Of the ten models that were honored this year, seven of them took home the IIHS Top Safety Pick+ award. This honor is reserved for vehicles that are rated "Good" in all major crash tests, have a "Good" or "Acceptable" rating for headlights on all trims, and earn a front crash prevention rating of "Advanced" or "Superior" in both vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-pedestrian evaluations. Additionally, when equipped with available LED or Matrix-design LED headlights, models like the new 2022 Audi A4, 2022 Audi A5 Sportback, and 2022 Audi Q8 won impressive IIHS Top Safety Pick Awards.
